Seifert GmbH: Traffic Engineering & Road Markings
Greater Safety and Clearer Traffic Guidance on the B169
Initial Situation. In 2009, Federal Highway 169 became the first federal highway in Germany to be marked with a green median strip. The three-lane stretch is one of the busiest roads in southern Brandenburg and ranks among the most important commuter routes in Lusatia. Due to daily traffic of up to 20,000 vehicles, the roadway and markings were heavily worn. As part of the renovation, the entire route was re-marked—the concept featuring the green median strip has proven successful and is now being implemented in other federal states as well.
Planned, assisted, solved. Proven Triflex Line cold-applied markings in white and traffic green were used. The white
marking lines ensure good visibility—especially at night and in wet conditions—thanks to special post-application grit. The green strip in between provides a visually clear separation of the lanes and increases safety, particularly on lanes with changing overtaking configurations. Thanks to the high wear resistance and slip resistance of the Triflex systems, the markings are optimally designed to withstand the heavy traffic loads on federal highways and autobahns.
All working together. Thanks to close collaboration between Triflex’s sales team for marking materials and the contractor Seifert, the concept featuring the green dividing strip was implemented reliably, on schedule, and sustainably—all thanks to the high product quality.
Requirements for the Renovation
