Set in a magnificent landscaped park, this 19th- and 20th-century castle complex offers visitors a glimpse not only into the diverse lifestyles of four generations of noble barons but also into a remarkable Art Nouveau library and art gallery. To continue protecting these art-historical treasures from rain and temperature fluctuations, the standing-seam roof of the south wing needed to be renovated. The protective coating on the 245 m² roof surface made of galvanized sheet metal had already begun to peel; further damage to the zinc layer would have led to rapid material degradation due to corrosion. For this reason, the Fachsenfeld Castle Foundation, as the building owner, decided early on to have the roof repaired. The roofing contractor Dittmar GmbH recommended the Triflex ProTect waterproofing system—developed specifically for flat roofs—as well as Triflex ProDetail for the detail solution at the junction.
